Zec Punks whitelist application and the September 15 mint announcement

If you are thinking of applying for the Zec Punks whitelist, check the clock first. On September 10 the project said applicants had 72 hours, and on September 12 it said 24 hours were left. Working from the timestamps of the two posts, the close falls around midday UTC on September 13; the project did not give an exact time. At the time of writing (the morning of September 13) the application form was still showing on the site.

How to apply

The form on the site has four steps:

1. Connect your X account. The form opens with "Connect X to begin".
2. Complete the tasks. According to the FAQ there are three. The tasks are not visible until X is connected.
3. Paste your Zcash address. According to the FAQ only a unified address starting with u1 is accepted. Transparent addresses starting with t1 are not.
4. Submit.

The official application address is zecpunks.xyz, as shared by the project's X account.

The draw and referral codes

According to the FAQ, the whitelist is decided by a draw. Every person who applies with your code gives you another entry in the draw. The more entries you have, the higher your chance of winning the GTD slot.

In its September 12 post the project invited anyone who wants GTD to apply. No source says how many GTD or whitelist spots there are, or when the draw takes place.

Announced mint details

On September 12 the project gave its mint details on X:

• Date: September 15
• Price: 0.015 ZEC

The site's FAQ does not match that post. At the time of writing the FAQ listed the mint date as "TBA", saying it will be announced on X first, and said the price will be "announced together with the mint date".

The mint's time, page and method have not been announced.

What the project is

According to the FAQ, Zec Punks is the first punks NFT collection on Zcash: 1,555 pixel punks generated from a trait set drawn on a 24×24 grid. In its September 8 launch post the project says "no roadmap, no promises". According to the FAQ there is no hidden reserve and no second edition.

None of the sources reviewed explain how the collection will technically be minted on Zcash. The project has no documentation page.

• How many GTD and whitelist spots there are.
• The time of the September 15 mint and the address of the mint page. The project says the date and price are announced on X first.
