Aave V4 hit its Arc cap within hours: a $57.6 million start
Aave V4 launched on Circle's Arc network with USDC, EURC, cirBTC and WETH. Its initial USDC capacity filled within hours as total deposits in the Arc Core Hub reached about $57.6 million.

Aave V4 is now operating on Arc, Circle's new layer 1 network. The notable part is not only that a major DeFi brand has arrived on the network: Aave's initial USDC capacity filled within hours.
What happened
According to the Aave Labs governance record, the Arc market was successfully activated on 16 September. The market is accessible through Aave Pro and started with four assets: USDC, EURC, cirBTC and WETH.
The LlamaRisk update in the same record says the new Arc market reached its initial USDC cap within hours of launch. It reported about $57.6 million in total deposits in the Arc Core Hub. This figure is not a token price or trading volume. It is the total value of assets supplied to the protocol.
Why it matters
Arc charges gas in USDC and is designed around stablecoin payments, foreign exchange and tokenized assets. Having Aave V4 live from the start means the network is beginning to gather liquidity for lending and borrowing as well as transfers.
Aave V4 uses a Hub and Spoke architecture. Liquidity sits in a shared hub while different markets connect with their own collateral and risk settings. The Arc deployment began with one Core Hub and two spokes, one for the main market and another for foreign exchange.
Why capacity was limited
Deposit and borrowing caps are generally conservative when a new market opens. Reaching the first cap does not mean the protocol stopped working. It means the initial ceiling was reached. LlamaRisk subsequently proposed expanding capacity on Arc.
The development therefore carries two signals: there was early demand for liquidity on Arc, and the market is still growing under controlled limits.
What to watch out for
- A full cap is not a price signal. It only shows that supplied assets reached the opening ceiling.
- $57.6 million is not trading volume. It is the reported total value supplied to the Arc Core Hub.
- Opening demand may not persist. It is still unknown how much of the early liquidity will remain in the protocol.
What comes next
The main figures to watch are where Arc deposits settle after the opening days, how much borrowing demand emerges and how quickly higher caps are activated. Filling a cap within hours is a strong opening signal, not a guarantee of long-term usage.
